The renovation called for completely removing the front wall of the building and replacing it with a 40-foot tall glass curtainwall – during a winter season with some of the lowest temperatures and highest wind speeds on record.
Weather also played a major factor during construction. The main challenges for this project included working within a fully operational facility without impacting the patron’s resort and gaming experience, while ensuring ongoing revenue projections. SCMC was the construction manager overseeing more than 30 subcontractors for the multi-phased engagement.
